5 minute Skincare for Mums in a hurry!12/09/2014
‘Skincare for Mums’ – whether you’re a mum-to-be or a new mum then we’re sure these words excite you! Whether you’ve just had a baby or are returning to work after maternity leave, you’re relying on your skin more than ever to keep you looking fresh and alert.
The problem is, you don’t get much time to spend on yourself and your skincare regime has gone completely out the window.
Well don’t worry, we’ve got a plan to fix that; say hello to skincare for mums 101!
We’re going to show you how you can master the ‘skincare for mums 101’ routine in 5 minutes, yes it can be done! Our first piece of advice is to go natural.
You’re cautious of the products you use on your little ones. But did you ever think about the nasty chemicals you apply to your own skin, with which you touch your baby? Switching to VOYA’s safe and organic products will not only leave your skin smooth and nourished, but it will benefit your child too.
As you probably already know, a toddler’s favourite place to put anything is in their mouth. You don’t want anything to have been cleaned with toxic chemicals. Replacing as many products as you can with natural alternatives is advisable.
No matter how tired you are in the morning, drag yourself out of bed twenty minutes before your baby is due to wake.
Have a quick shower using some Squeaky Clean body wash to energise and refresh you, and make yourself a healthy breakfast. Fill yourself a large glass of water with a squeeze of lemon juice and sip it throughout the morning. Dehydration will make both you and your skin look tired.
Skincare for Mums Regime
There’s nothing to say you have to abandon your skincare regime just because you have less time to spend on it. The trick is to do it all, but just do it all much quicker. It might surprise you how fast you can cleanse, tone and moisturise once you get used to a time limit.
Half the battle of looking good in the morning is to allow your skin to heal itself overnight using a nourishing night cream like Dream Creme. If you’re in a rush, massage in some Cast Away face wash while in the shower and gently rub it off with a muslin cloth. Face washes are great for waking the skin up in the morning.
After cleansing, tone the skin with some refreshing Ritzy Spritzy.
Another time-saving tip is to mix a little bit of our deeply hydrating My Little Hero with some moisturiser on the back of your hand and then apply it to your face. Lastly, target those dark under-eye circles with some brightening eye cream and slick on some lip balm. This may seem a little ambitious, but it’s actually do-able in less than five minutes. Even if you have no time to put on make up, your skin will now feel refreshed and bright.

Spending five minutes in the morning perking your skin up will help you to look and feel a little more vivacious, no matter how much (or how little should we say!) sleep you’ve had the night before.
With a baby, between nappy-changing and spit-ups, you’ll find yourself washing your hands a lot more than usual.
Ironically, washing your hands can be very drying on your skin. Check out our Clean Me Up. Although its essential oil base is deeply cleansing, it’s also very moisturising. Washing your hands is preferable to using hand-sanitizers as they have a high level of alcohol in them (which is detrimental to your skin).
After washing, keep your hands soft by massaging in some Handy To Have hand cream. It’s a good idea to keep some hand cream, lip balm and Ritzy Spritzy in your handbag to keep your skin feeling nourished on the go.
