5 simple ways to look great every Monday morning11/03/2014
by Kira Walton
We live busy lives. We work Monday to Friday and try to cram everything (and everyone) else into the weekend. Is that you too?
Toxins can build up in our bodies during the course of the week. Over the weekend, alcohol and rich foods add to the build up and leave us feeling tired and sluggish on a Monday.
So how can we look great first thing Monday morning?
Instead of slouching on the couch in front of the telly on a Sunday evening, take some “me-time” to prepare for the week ahead. Just two hours could mean you give your mind, body and skin nourishment—health on the inside and out.
Here’s what you should aim to do to achieve that youthful, healthy glow:
It can be difficult, especially at this time of year to leave the comfort of the couch for the cold winter air. Trust us; this is something that you will not regret. Exercise is not only good for the mind and the body but it is also great for skin.
Sweating is a great way for the body to remove impurities and get rid of toxins. You should get 30 minutes of intensive exercise so get out and walk the dog or go for a run with a friend and sweat it all out!
2. Eat healthy food & drink lots of water
Even if you have gone a little overboard with the treats at the weekend, there are lots of foods and drinks which are naturally detoxifying. Fruits which contain antioxidants include: tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries and apples. Fancy a smoothie anyone? As regards vegetables, try to pack these in for your dinner on Sunday: broccoli, onion, garlic and artichoke.
Drinking a cup of green tea with some lemon is also an excellent way to detox and we can’t emphasise how important it is to drink lots of water. Drinking water can speed up the detox process and flush harmful toxins out of your body.
3. Sunday night bath
After your 30 minutes of exercise, why not relax in a Lazy Days seaweed bath? This is a bath with a difference: organic seaweed is combined with Dead Sea salt to provide essential care and repair of the skin. Seaweed also has anti-aging qualities and actively fights against cellulite. For extra luxury, why not light some scented candles. Our scented candles are made from organic beeswax with essential oils.
Have you ever wanted that glowing skin that celebrities have on the red carpet? Imagine walking into work looking like a celeb on Monday morning! Guess what? It’s easier to get than you think: exfoliate! Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells and lets your new skin cells shine through. For the body, try the seaweed based “Time to shine body buff” with our exfoliating brush and organic cotton pouch.
Last but not least, it is very important to moisturise and nourish your skin so it doesn’t dry out and age too quickly. The winter months can be very harsh on your skin, as can alcohol and the wrong type of foods. If skin gets too dry, it can lead to dry patches and wrinkles. For your body, Softly Does It has a number of ingredients which actively promote silky smooth skin: organic Shea butter, organic avocado and organic Aloe Vera. For your face, apply Dream Crème on Sunday night before you go to sleep to wake up fresh as a daisy on Monday morning.
