Experience Spa Heaven on the Scottish Coast03/08/2016
VOYA organic seaweed products and treatments can be found in some of the most luxurious spa locations around the world. This month we bring you an exclusive look at the picturesque Archerfield House in Scotland.
Sitting just over 20 miles East of Edinburgh in North Berwick, the estate of Archerfield House is home to the Fletcher’s Cottage Spa, a state of the art treatment house that caters to both overnight guests and day visitors.
As well as developing it’s own bespoke treatments such as the Fletcher’s Cottage Signature Treatment, the spa curates what it believes to be the highest quality products and treatments available.
Spa staff can help guests pick the most suitable treatments from the menu to suit every need and inclination.
Guests at Fletcher’s Cottage Spa can avail of a number of VOYA’s exclusive treatments including Voyager Total Massage Journey, the Peppermint Seaweed Sugar Glow and The VOYA Illuminating Facial. There’s even a dedicated bath hut for visitors to enjoy the VOYA Peat Aches and Pains Bath and the Seaweed and Aroma Salts Bath experiences.
Although Archerfield House and Fletcher’s Cottage Spa could be described as hidden gems on the East Lothian Coast, Spa Manager Michelle Denham explains that the estate and spa is a popular getaway for guests from all over the world.
“We’re very popular with clients from America that visit us in the summer months, we also have a lot of clients from London and of course our local clients.
“It’s a popular place for people to come for their holidays, getaways, and long weekends. We love welcoming our clients back year after year. We even have a guest who has been staying with us for six weeks and she’s booked with us into the spa for the next six Mondays…That’s absolutely the life.”
The gorgeous mansion house that rests at the heart of the Archerfield House estate holds a special place in history, dating back to the 17th century. However, it was only 11 years ago that the house was restored to its former glory, having been left derelict for some time. The resulting restoration allows guests to experience a fine modern service in a historical setting.
“It’s hard to imagine that there was once no windows or roof on it and now it’s simply phenomenal,” says Michelle. “Archerfield’s private member club still exists here as Archerfield links. Then that’s expanded with the other accommodation an Archerfield House of course and not to forget the stunning wedding location that we have here.”
Even though summer months can sometimes be less busy for the spa industry, as people are preoccupied with organising their summer holidays, Michelle and her team have seen a continuous flow of business thanks in part to the spa treatments and accommodation offer. This makes the resort the perfect getaway for couples, girls’ getaways, golfing trips, second honeymoons or even just a weekend treat.
