VOYA Protects World Wildlife Habitats in partnership with The World Land Trust01/08/2014
This year we’re delighted to announce that we’ve committed to protecting over 6,098 m2 of world wildlife habitat by cutting our carbon emissions and supporting the World Land Trust, an international conservation charity which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre.
What it means to be ‘Carbon Balanced’ by The World Land Trust
In 2013, we committed to carbon balance 72.60 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption associated with general operations and business travel.
This has enabled us to offset unavoidable emissions through the World Land Trust’s Carbon Balanced Programme which has helped to protect wildlife habitats in Numbami in Ecuador. A pledge to offset further emissions has been agreed for 2014.
Giving back to nature
As we are constantly working with natural resources, our ethos is very much to operate sustainably and protect the world we live in.
We felt that we had a strong synergy with the World Land Trust and a partnership would enable us to not only improve our own operations, but also help endangered wildlife where it is most needed. This has been a relatively straightforward procedure for us as a business and we would encourage other companies to do the same.
